Welcome to the website of Gede Homestay in Lovina on Bali Indonesia. The traditional Balinese homestay (homestay = pondok wisata in Indonesian) is situated on the beach of Lovina and run by Mr. Gede and his family. Mr. Gede was a fisherman in Lovina and decided 18 years ago to start a homestay and gave up his work as a fisherman.

This website is made by a visitor of Gede Homestay after a great stay in 2003 and 2005. We had a great time at Gede Homestay, made a dolphin trip, went to the Banjar hotsprings and were invited to some ceremonies. . When we were drinking a Bintang with Mr. Gede, we decided to make a website for him. In 2008 the website is renewed with new photos that visitors has send.

The Homestay off Mr. Gede is situated at the beach of Lovina, only a few steps from the sea. The main entrance to Gede Homestay is on the road site, trough a narrow alley.

Lovina is well known because of the boat-trips to dolphins and his authentic Balinese atmosphere. If you are looking for that Balinese atmosphere, then you'll love Gede and his homestay. The homestay is simple and clean. You can choose a simple room with only cold water, or a more luxurious room with hot and cold water.

The homestay has several bungalows with a combined living/bedroom and separate bathroom. In 2008 two older rooms had been renovated and an airco and a bath were installed. Each bungalow has a seat in front with a view over the small, but colorful garden.

You will pay about 120.000 Rupiah (8 euro) for a simple room and about 150.000 Rupiah (9,5 euro) for an bungalow with fan or airco. A simple breakfast is included, and you can always order a vast meal from the menu. The restaurant is always open and you can get a diner. Mr. Gede buys every day fresh ingredients on the local market.
